Embracing Glasswork as a Reflection of Life's Interconnectedness and Inspiring Fresh Perspectives

Hyuna Lee is captivated by blowing glass with its intense focus and the harmony required to work seamlessly with a team in the heat of creation, which she believes mirrors the interconnectedness of human life—relationships with people and with glass itself. To Ms. Lee, glass represents life.

She often finds inspiration in the small, seemingly insignificant objects of everyday life. These objects have taught her that even the information we naturally accumulate over time can be limited by preconceptions. For instance, She used to struggle with coffee coupons that didn’t fit in her wallet, leading her to get a new one every time she visited a café. One day, she noticed a friend’s wallet with a folded coupon inside and was struck by the thought, “Why didn’t I think to fold it?” This realization pushed her to explore how my glasswork can inspire others to see the mundane with fresh perspectives.

As experience and age accumulate, they can sometimes solidify our viewpoints. Yet, they also compel us to question whether those viewpoints truly hold. She strives to live creatively, avoiding the comfort of familiarity, and engaging in dynamic conversations with the world. With a playful, unrestrained mindset, Ms. Lee aims to challenge traditional boundaries and discover new ways of seeing.
